With the importance of Cultural Heritage recognised not only for its contribution in shaping ethnic identities, but also as an important factor in the economic growth of a country through its contribution to tourism, the need of protecting and preserving Cultural Heritage sites has been acknowledged as a priority for our societies. In this course, the collaboration of experts from different disciplines is important. STORM project, is an attempt to combine the expertise of a multidisciplinary group of academics, researchers, experts and practitioners, towards effective prediction of environmental changes and for revealing threats and conditions that could damage cultural heritage sites. STORM has completed its 3 years works, leading to results reporting on scientific and technical advancements, proposed strategies and policies, as well as practices and interventions towards the protection of Cultural Heritage. This book reports these results through a spherical coverage addressing both challenges and problems, and solutions, proposals and insights on the future.
