Lorenzo Cicchi (Ph.D. IMT Institute for Advanced Studies, 2013) is currently research and teaching assistant at the University of Pisa and coordinator of the Observatory on Political Parties and Representation at the European University Institute. Previously he was research associate at the Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (2015-2016) and post-doctoral fellow at Fondazione Luigi Einaudi (2014-2015). His research focuses on EU politics and institutions, in particular the European Parliament, political parties, voting behaviour and electoral systems
